Rogers Stirk Harbour +

Parc1 is a vast project in Seoul South Korea that includes 65,000 sq ft, about 1.5 acres of undulating hardwood floor decking being fabricated by Pure Timber LLC. There are also two office towers, two shopping malls, and a large hotel. The undulating, curved flooring links all these areas in a central atrium. The floor rises and falls to form landforms, seats, amphitheater, retail kiosks, paths, and is intersected by water features. The curved flooring runs up the columns and into the ceilings, and drips off of floor edges to other levels. The principal architect is Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, and the landscape architect is Martha Schwartz. Pure Timber produced several scale and full size models during the product development.
