Pure Timber produced 4" x 4" bent and charred white oak parts for POD A+D as part of their design development for Rabbit Hole Distillery. Each part was treated with a Shou Sugi Ban flaming technique, similar to how the inside of whiskey barrels are torched. It is a Japanese heat treatment that makes the wood durable for outdoor use. Pure Timber uses this technique on our own building siding. The concept was to have an exterior that had uniform horizontal slats that at one point diverted into a crazy curved appearance, as if a giant were peering into a window and pulled the blinds to peak in. It also represented the shape of the Rabbit Hole logo. Pure Timber completed a design development phase. Building is in construction.
